Rain was started in 1989 in the rural town Ladybrandt on the border of Lesotho. Bev Missing started Rain in her garage as a poverty relief initiative to help the local women.
Rain is privately owned by a small group of shareholders. Our South African and Irish stores are all Rain owned with the exception of the KZN, Namibia and USA stores, they belong to franchise holders.
Currently we are not offering any franchising opportunities as we are focusing on expanding our footprint in South Africa and Ireland. Should you however have an exciting opportunity, please send us your complete proposal to info@rainafrica.com
.
Our present facilities are not geared to handle visitors, but we are in the process of building a new factory where we will most definitely allow visitors to come and see how their favourite Rain product is made. .
For the most part dry, normal, oily or sensitive skin can use all our products - some are made especially for dry skin, while others work great for sensitive skin. Best to read the label or ask your sales assistant. .
Unfortunately we do not offer this service at this time. All web sales are handled from the factory in Swellendam and thus any orders will have to be couriered. The client will still have to pay this charge, so why not send straight to your home? Shop deliveries are an option that we are investigating for future implementation.
Our current delivery fee is R145 door to door for parcels less than 5kg and under R1000. We offer free shipping on orders over R1000. You do have the option of sending your own courier to collect from us, please arrange with info@ranafrica.com
In short, no. we have based our pricing and delivery charges to fit the local market. You are most welcome to send an email to info@rainafrica.com should you wish us to custom create you a quote based on your location if you are located outside the orders of South Africa, The USA or Ireland. Kindly note that all import or custom duties are payable by yourself. .
Although we state 10 working days, our normal turnaround time is about 3 days since we receive our online orders. A delay may occur if we are currently out of stock at our factory (everything is made by hand and it does happen that sometimes we are still in the process of making when the stock sells out). .
